Yo puedo...

¡Hola!

Many of us are now using the “I can” format to write and post our objectives when we discuss them with the kids. Here are some great sentence starters in Spanish for writing them! Thanks, Soraya! This is just part one of the list--it's quite extensive! Happy writing!

Yo puedo definir
Yo puedo identificar
Yo puedo explicar
Yo puedo rotular
Yo puedo enlistar
Yo puedo “match
Yo puedo repetir
Yo puedo decir
Yo puedo nombrar
Yo puedo describir
Yo puedo recontar
Yo puedo categorizar
Yo puedo clasificar
Yo puedo escoger
Yo puedo seleccionar
Yo puedo interpretar
Yo puedo analizar
Yo puedo comparar
Yo puedo contrastar
Yo puedo debatir
Yo puedo concluir
Yo puedo formular

This is just part one of the list--it's quite extensive! Thanks, Soraya!
Happy writing!

The Funky Pickle: Book Spine Poetry

I found this today at The Loco Teacher, and I love it! It would be pretty challenging to do with my little ones, but for you upper grade teachers, I'd love to see you try it out!

She has the kids run around the library (not literally, I assume...) and find some books that interest them, then put them together and write it down.

Check out the link for more details!

Just for fun, here are a couple I made up with books I had at my house. Enjoy!

                                                            Second grade friends
                                                                         do the funky pickle
                                                                        ...and now Miguel.

                                                                    Dual language
                                                                                Dreamkeepers
                                                                               Growing readers

What do you think? Would you try this with your students? Leave a comment!
